The University provides a range of targeted access schemes and support initiatives to promote women's participation and success in higher education.
Scholarships for women: The University offers numerous scholarships specifically designed to support women across a variety of disciplines. These include the College of Engineering, Science and Environment Gender Equity Scholarship, the CSIRO Women in Energy Scholarship, and many others that aim to reduce financial barriers and promote gender equity in fields where women are underrepresented.
Targeted support programs: Reclaiming My Place is a unique, praxis-based framework developed by the University’s Centre of Excellence for Equity in Higher Education. This initiative uses visual arts methods in community and campus settings to foster inclusive, alternative entry points into lifelong learning for women—particularly those who may not follow traditional academic pathways. It is publicly promoted and exemplifies the University’s commitment to removing structural barriers to participation.
Mentoring for women in STEM: The Women in STEM Mentoring Program connects female and non-binary students with mentors to support their academic journey and professional development. The program provides guidance, encouragement, and practical strategies to help students navigate their degrees and transition successfully into STEM careers—fields where gender disparities remain a concern.
