Establishment
This scholarship was established to recognise high achieving students and to encourage and support them to enter eligible undergraduate programs within the College of Engineering, Science and Environment (CESE).

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you will need to:
- Be commencing in an eligible undergraduate program within the College of Engineering, Science and Environment, University of Newcastle.
- Have completed a Year 12 Higher School Certificate OR a University of Newcastle enabling program in the year prior to commencement of the undergraduate program.
- Have achieved a minimum ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) or equivalent of 95 or higher, with adjustment factors NOT included.
- Be enrolled full-time.
- Be an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent Resident (includes New Zealand Permanent Residents).
- Not have previously received this scholarship.
Required Documentation
Required documents will be listed on the ‘Your Documents’ page of your application. The application portal accepts PDF only. A maximum of 3 PDF smaller than 5 MB can be added per document type upload field.

Benefit
The scholarship has a total financial benefit of $4,000.
The scholarship benefit will be paid as $2,000 following semester 1 census date and $2,000 following semester 2 census date (usually received in April and September).
Selection
No application is required.
Scholarships will be automatically awarded to eligible students based on a review of Main Round and Enabling to Undergraduate Admissions for Semester 1. School leavers who received an early offer of admission will also be considered if their final ATAR is competitive.
Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of academic merit, namely Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
Scholars receiving this scholarship remain eligible for the CESE Relocation, CESE Gender Equity, and CESE Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarships.
