Arcadia Landscape Architecture’s focus is to enrich community and Country, shaping meaningful places for all Australians in regional and urban settings. A diverse and inclusive workforce keep arcadia at the forefront of architecture’s engagement, advancement and collaboration with Australia’s First People. It is the intention of Arcadia to build ongoing relationships with scholars which may include opportunities for employment during or after the successful completion of their studies.
Students may begin this scholarship at any point in their degree, including during the Master of Architecture degree. Depending at what point they are awarded, the scholarship will provide financial assistance for the remaining duration of the course, including Masters. Preference may be given to students with a particular interest in Landscape Architecture.

Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you will need to:
- Be enrolled in any year of the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) or the Master of Architecture with University of Newcastle.
- Be willing to consider professional experience opportunities offered by the donor.
- Be intending to study on a full-time basis (minimum 60 units per year).
- Have met entry requirements if a new student; or maintained a minimum GPA of 4.0 if you are a continuing student. Please note that you do not need to provide evidence of this as we will use University reporting.
- Establish your Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status per the process outlined on the Wollotuka Institute's study with us page.
- Be an Australian citizen.
- Not be the recipient of another University of Newcastle donor-funded or sponsored scholarship concurrently.
Required Documentation
Required documents will be listed on the ‘Your Documents’ page of your application. The application portal accepts PDF only. A maximum of 3 PDF smaller than 5 MB can be added per document type upload field.
- A personal statement (approx. 1 A4 page) outlining your academic achievements, career aspirations in the relevant area of study, and how this scholarship would assist you. This statement will cover all scholarships you are submitting for.
- The application will include a free text question asking you to outline your interest in associated future opportunities with this donor and/or Industry partner.
Benefit
The scholarship provides a total benefit of $20,000, paid as two equal payments of $2,500 in Semester 1 and 2 for a maximum term of 4 years (or remaining duration of program), provided ongoing eligibility is maintained.
Payment is typically received 2–3 weeks after the Semester 1 census date, or 2–3 weeks after you accept your offer if the census date has already passed.
Selection
Selection is a competitive process and will be based on assessment of the scholarship application and any required supporting documents, with reference to the eligibility criteria. Preference may be given to those who have a specific interest in landscape architecture.
Selection will be made by the Indigenous Selection Panel which will consist of a minimum of three members chosen by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous Strategy and Leadership.
