Meet Jacob Carson

Mr Jacob Carson

BA(Newcastle), UCTh(Morling)

Why did you join the University Council?

I joined the Council because I have a love for the University of Newcastle and a deep respect for the significant contribution it makes to our community. As such, I saw serving on the Council as a wonderful opportunity to give back to the university by helping to maintain its record of good governance and wise decision-making that keeps the interests of student at its heart.

What do you look back on most fondly when it comes to your own education?

The most valuable part of my tertiary education over the past few years has simply been having such close proximity to the brilliant minds of my lecturers and professors. I believe that the opportunity to soak up their example will have a profound influence on the way I think and solve problems for years to come.
