Meeting Spaces

We offer a range of meeting spaces, from boardroom-style rooms for 22 attendees to theatre-style venues for up to 100 people.

In the CBD there are three bookable meeting spaces, all with views of the harbour and city. Have a closer look at available rooms. At Callaghan, the Treehouse, Lambert Lounge and Nelson Room are all located on same floor in the Shortland Building and overlook the stunning bushland surrounds. The meeting rooms are located above the Local Connections restaurant for your morning coffee, restaurant dining or catered meals for your group.

Venue Hire

Please enquire about the furniture included in the venue hire application as availability will vary depending on other bookings at the time. Additional furniture requirements can be coordinated directly between you and a preferred supplier at the your expense. Preferred suppliers include Exotic Lily Events and Newcastle Event Hire.

We have a selection of catering options that can meet your food and beverage needs with breakfast, lunch, and canape menus. See our catering options here. You can also make a booking at Local Connections, our on-campus restaurant situated downstairs.

The venues offer AV facilities including high speed Wi-Fi, data projectors and screens or a wall mounted TV, Zoom capability, in-house PA systems, lecterns, and microphones.

You will have access to the UON Conference wifi. Please check with venuesandevents@newcastle.edu.au for the current password.

Should you require a space to be set up in a specific layout, you will need to make a request at least ten business days prior to your event via email to venuesandevents@newcastle.edu.au.

We aim to meet all clients on site and can assist with AV set up if needed. Onsite Security team members can provide first aid and assist in the case of an emergency. They can be contacted on 4921 5888. If you need to contact the Venues and Events team you can call 4921 6759.
