Telephone services

You will be provided with a standard telephone handset at your desk, a unique telephone extension  and a voicemail box if your are at:

  • Newcastle campus (Callaghan)
  • Newcastle City precinct
  • Newbolds
  • Central Coast campus (Ourimbah)
  • Sydney CBD
  • Waratah PO
  • Tamworth Education Centre
  • HMRI

If you are at another location, you should check with your local IT support staff regarding telephone arrangements.

Handset function options

You can log a request on the IT Service Portal to arrange the following:
  • setup your phone profile so you can log in to any of our networked phones and display your details, collect voicemail and use your profile speed dials
  • create your name display
  • create a voicemail account
  • reset a forgotten voicemail PIN
  • setup speed dial options
  • arrange for call group pick up

Please include the following information when logging your request:

  • your Uni-ID
  • the extension number of the phone
  • the current name on the phone
  • the new name to be displayed (maximum 30 characters)
  • the phone model eg. Cisco 7965
  • your email address
  • relevant numbers for speed dial and call pick up option
