Student Peer Advisors have been appointed to offer free one-on-one sessions to HDR candidates. Each of the advisors can offer support and advice about a variety of topics, from software packages (NVivo, Endnote, R, Excel and more) to adapting to a new academic culture, to professional networking and much more.

We provide a number of workshops and training programs to build on your skills.

To create an environment where you can conduct and collate your research and develop your research thesis ready for examination, we provide you with a laptop and a range of other equipment and facilities .

Your supervisor is your key contact throughout your degree. They will provide guidance on all aspects of your research. You will meet regularly with your supervisor to ensure you are making progress. The Code of Practice for Research Higher Degree Candidature forms the basis of understanding and commitment between you and your supervisor.

There are rigorous processes for ethics and safety. If you are planning an internship, placement or fieldwork as part of your research, you will need to obtain the correct approvals.
