Each online program is a tool to help you with strategies and advice to look after yourself whilst studying at the University of Newcastle and beyond.


THIS WAY UP provides self-paced online courses that teach clinically-proven strategies to help you improve the way you feel. THIS WAY UP is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing under the Telephone Counselling, Self Help and Web-Based Support Programs.

Navigator: Taking care of you

Navigator is a website featuring articles and videos created by University of Newcastle students for University of Newcastle students. The ‘Taking care of you’ category is dedicated to ensuring you have your best possible uni experience, with advice on how to stay on top of studies, maintain your mental and physical health, and tips on how to unwind after a stressful day.


Funded by the Australian Government, Mindspot offers free online and over-the-phone courses to help adults living in Australia manage issues such as depression, anxiety and stress.


These free online programs are aimed at helping students improve their mental health or deal with issues surrounding substance abuse, including alcohol, stimulants and smoking. Created by NSW Health and the University of New South Wales, eCliPSE has been modified specifically to help students at the University of Newcastle
