What is TalkCampus?
TalkCampus was designed in recognition of the unique mental health challenges experienced by students. It is a peer-to-peer service, that offers students a safe and engaging platform to support mental health and wellbeing. The free app offers immediate, 24/hr access to multilingual support.
How to get started
- Sign up to TalkCampus
- Use TalkCampus via web by selecting ‘Sign Up’ or download the TalkCampus app for free from Google Play or the App Store.
- Enter your university email address and choose a password.

How it works
Get instant support for your mental health any time of day and night through the TalkCampus app. Student life can be incredibly tough. At TalkCampus we’re here for the moments when you just need a friend. Talk anonymously to students around the world going through the exact same struggles you are any time of day or night.
This is a safe place where you can talk anonymously about anything and get support for your mental health and whatever is on your mind. The TalkCampus app is available to all students at the University and in 26 languages including: English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali
Wellness Centre
TalkCampus also has a collection of self-directed learning modules that you can find in their Wellness Centre. The modules cover a range of common mental health problems including depression, social anxiety, panic, generalized anxiety disorder, OCD, health anxiety and PTSD. Each module contains high-quality psycho-education and evidence-based psychological interventions, based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

The TalkCampus app is managed and operated by TalkLife, an independent third party.
The University pays a fee to TalkLife so you can access the app for free.
TalkCampus may use your email address or IP address to alert Emergency Services if a post indicates serious safety concerns. This may or may not result in those concerns being passed back to the University of Newcastle.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
