Gender and sexuality support
At the University of Newcastle, we recognise it’s our differences that makes us a strong, fun and vibrant community. We celebrate our gender and sexual diversity with events such as Pride Week and Wear It Purple Day, which are spearheaded by student groups such as the Women’s Collective, Queer Collective, and our Newcastle University Student Association (NUSA) as a whole.
You always have the right to express who you are and feel comfortable and safe within your sexuality.
If you are questioning or experiencing difficulty with your sexuality there are services both on campus and in the community that provide non-judgmental and confidential support including:
- The Ally Network
- Equity and Diversity Coordinator
- NUSA’s Women’s Collective and/or Queer Collective
You can also contact the University’s Equity and Diversity Coordinator:
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
