Higher duties and relieving
If a member of your team is required to undertake higher duties or relieves in a higher position they may be eligible for a higher duties or relieving allowance. To be considered for an allowance, the period needs to be for five days or more. A staff member may be paid a percentage of the salary appropriate for the duties they are performing where they are not carrying out the full range of duties or taking the full level of responsibility of a higher level position.
The manager or supervisor must complete the application (PDF, 172KB), which should be approved by your Head of School or Division before being submitted to Human Resource Services for further assessment. You also need to include the relevant cost collector.
