International students
If you're a current enrolled international undergraduate/postgraduate coursework student at the University and would like to move from your current program to another program on campus in Australia, you'll need to submit a new application for admission.
How to apply
Please login using your Student ID and password, and select "Apply to study in Australia " button to complete your application.
When completing your application, make sure you include details of all your relevant qualifications and experience.
You may need to provide supporting documentation for any relevant qualifications completed outside the University of Newcastle.
You may need to provide supporting documentation for qualifications completed outside the University of Newcastle. You don't need to provide transcripts for studies completed at the University, as we can access your academic record.

Important fee information
The scholarship to the preferred program will be assessed based on the Terms and Conditions. The scholarship awarded to your current program is not transferrable.

Eligibility
For current continuing students who wish to change from one program to another within the University, the eligibility will depend on both your current program and the program and/or campus you wish to change into.
Approval will be subject to:
- vacancies in the preferred program;
- lodgement of the change application by the international key date
- the student meeting all published admission requirements and selection criteria for the preferred program
- the applicant meeting the inherent requirements of the target program; and
- assessment against the Genuine Student (GS) criteria in Ministerial Direction 106
- appropriate visa with study permission and sufficient length to complete study of the preferred program
Additional admission requirements
If you're applying for the Bachelor of Music and Performing Arts or the Bachelor of Music and Performing Arts / Bachelor of Arts, you must complete the additional entry requirements before being assessed for admissions. Applicants should complete the Music Selection Process as early as possible, and by the specified audition closing dates.
If you're applying for the Bachelor of Nursing, you'll need to meet the English language proficiency requirements established by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
These requirements apply to all applicants, regardless of their previous studies.
When will I receive an outcome?
If you meet the admission requirements for your preferred program, you may receive an offer within a few weeks of submitting your completed application.
If your eligibility for admission depends on results from studies you're currently completing, your application may need to be assessed once those results become available.
For students relying on their current year's university studies, this will generally mean waiting until final results are released at the end of the academic year.
Credit for previous study
If you're successful in gaining admission to a new program, your application will be assessed for credit, and you may be eligible to receive credit for courses you've already completed.
Changing from a combined degree to a single degree
If you're currently studying a combined degree and would like to change to one of the single programs within that combination, you may be able to step out of your combined program rather than submit a new application.
For example, if you're studying the Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Commerce and would like to continue in the Bachelor of Commerce only, contact your Student Progression Advisor to discuss your options before applying.
Singapore Campus
The students studying at Singapore campus can also use this link to apply to change program and/or campus from Singapore to a campus in Australia or online study.
To change between programs at Singapore campus or to change campus from an Australian campus or online to Singapore, please contact Singapore Admissions team.
