Subcommittees

Teaching and Learning Committee (TLC)

The Teaching and Learning Committee (TLC) is a subcommittee of Academic Senate, chaired by the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Global).

The Committee provides oversight of teaching, learning and assessment across the University, and serves as the principal advisory body to the Academic Senate on all matters relating to educational quality, student learning and academic standards.

The Committee also supports the implementation of the University's Looking Ahead 2030 Strategic Plan, particularly the priorities and objectives articulated in the Education Plan.

Research Committee (RC)

The Research Committee (RC) is a subcommittee of Academic Senate, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation).

The Committee provides oversight of research and research training across the University, and serves as the principal advisory body to the Academic Senate on all matters relating to research quality, impact, ethics, integrity and academic standards.

The Committee also supports the implementation of the University's Looking Ahead 2030 Strategic Plan, particularly the priorities and objectives articulated in the Research Plan.

Program and Course Approval Committee (PCAC)

The Program and Course Approval Committee (PCAC) is a subcommittee of Academic Senate, chaired by the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Global).

The Committee provides oversight of the approval, amendment, establishment, disestablishment and review of programs and courses across the University, and serves as the principal advisory body to the Academic Senate on matters relating to curriculum quality, innovative program offerings, and course delivery models to improve the global competitiveness of graduates.

PALS Board

The Pathways and Academic Learning Support Centre (PALS) Board is a subcommittee of Academic Senate, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Engagement and Equity).

The Board provides oversight of academic activities within PALS and serves as the principal advisory body to the Academic Senate on matters relating to teaching, learning and research within the PALS centre.

The Board plays a key role in supporting the implementation of the University's Looking Ahead 2030 Strategic Plan, particularly the priorities and objectives articulated in the Equity Plan.

College Boards

Each of the University's Colleges has a College Board. The College Boards are subcommittees of Academic Senate, chaired by the relevant College Pro Vice-Chancellor.

The College Boards provide oversight of teaching, learning, assessment and research activities within their respective Colleges and drive continuous improvement by approving the academic content of new courses, endorsing College procedures that align with University strategy, and overseeing the academic governance of Schools within the College.
