Health Education Research Building
Campus: Callaghan
Completion: July 2025
The Health Education Research Building brings key health disciplines under one roof. This development provides contemporary facilities for nursing and midwifery including simulation labs, a mix of teaching spaces, and communal student and staff areas, as well as the Office of the Pro Vice Chancellor for the College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing.
The Vic Levi Building

Completion: February 2025
The Vic Levi Building, formerly known as the Health and Physical Education Building, has undergone a significant refurbishment, transforming this part of the campus into a comprehensive hub for sports and exercise.

University House

Completion: September 2024
University House (formerly known as NESCA house), located on the corner of King Street and Auckland Street, is one of the University's buildings with a large occupation by the School of Humanities, Creative Industries & Social Sciences (HCISS).

Q Building
Campus: Newcastle City
Completion: June 2021
Formerly known as Honeysuckle Stage 1A, the Q Building project was completed in mid-2021. The building will welcome students in semester 2.
The Forum Sports & Aquatics Centre

Completion: June 2021
To ensure the Aquatic Centre remained ahead of industry standards and continued to offer dynamic and functional facilities for all users, significant refurbishment works were prioritised to take advantage of the pool closure during the management of COVID-19.
BioResearch
Campus: Callaghan
Completion: Early-2021
The BioResearch Facility supports world-class biomedical and biological research. The building improves our research capabilities by giving researchers access to modern, fit-for-purpose facilities that align with emerging technologies, methodologies and fields of research.

The Conservatorium of Music
Campus: Newcastle City
Completion: Semester 2, 2020
The Conservatorium of Music is a significant public asset for the Newcastle region. Along with providing both undergraduate and postgraduate education, the facility also supports an active community music program. A program of works commenced in late 2019 for phased refurbishment that will continue into 2020.

The GT Bar is undergoing a transformational fit-out to deliver an exciting new food and beverage venue for students and staff. The new fit-out will include a casual lounge area and bar which flows out to the licensed Derkenne Courtyard, and a dining area inside with a range a menu options to share a meal with friends and colleagues.
Shortland Outdoor Space

Completed: April 2020
The Shortland outdoor space project design, was led by students and carried out by Jane Irwin Landscape Architecture. It inspires collaboration and creativity while providing a place to relax, study and connect.
Design bus stop and road upgrade
Campus: Callaghan
Completed: Jan 2020
The design bus stop and road upgrade project will see an upgrade to the road layout to allow easier access for buses and create less confusing roadways for students, staff and visitors.
Food Science Laboratory
Campus: Ourimbah
Completed: Jan 2020
Three new and improved teaching spaces are open and operational at Ourimbah after undergoing a refresh over the Christmas period in 2019 to welcome students in time for semester one.
