Construction of NIER Stage 1B
NIER is a $30 million Australian Government funded facility that supports a multidisciplinary approach to research in energy and resources. Housing world class researchers and providing a facility for the growth in national and international partnerships NIER Stage 1B is the culmination of over 5 years of construction to establish the precinct.
This stage of the project provided additional office space, meeting rooms, car parking and an access road to a value of $7million. Providing a facility that supports the co-location of multidisciplinary energy and research groups encourages collaboration, innovative thinking and synergies within research.
NIER comprises extensive mineral, chemical and related technical laboratories, workshops, offices and five industrial-scale pilot plant workshops over 3.5 hectares and now complete it is the preeminent and most comprehensive energy and resources research institute of its kind in Australia.
