The partnership connects University of Newcastle students with the Gallery and the broader arts and cultural sector, providing opportunities for practical experience, career-ready placements and industry engagement.

Students can gain real-world experience through placements with Newcastle Art Gallery, while the University and Gallery can collaborate on course activities, practical case studies, workshops and professional development opportunities.

The partnership also creates opportunities for University staff, students and alumni to engage with the Gallery through exhibitions, programming and exclusive events.

Through the partnership, the University also supports an Indigenous cadetship, providing an emerging creative professional with mentoring, sector knowledge and valuable experience within the arts and cultural sector.

The University is proud to support Newcastle Art Gallery and its role in enriching the cultural life of Newcastle, while creating meaningful pathways for students into creative careers.
