The University of Newcastle is proud to partner with Maitland Regional Art Gallery to support the Future Creatives Visual Arts Forum.

Future Creatives Logo

The Future Creatives Forum is an annual event for secondary students across the Lower Hunter, connecting young people with artists, creative industry professionals and leaders to explore careers and opportunities in the visual arts and creative industries.

Held at Maitland Town Hall, with workshops and tours at Maitland Regional Art Gallery, the Forum provides students with an opportunity to engage directly with the creative sector through a jam-packed day of talks, workshops and hands-on experiences.

Through the partnership, the University of Newcastle is helping connect students with the creative industries and showcase the diverse study and career pathways available to them.

The Forum also provides opportunities for university students and staff to contribute their expertise, with university academics, University Art Gallery staff, and students participating in the program, alongside opportunities for career-ready placements at Maitland Regional Art Gallery.

The University is proud to support an initiative that encourages young people to explore their creativity, build connections with the creative sector and consider where a career in the arts could take them.
