New Legislation: Higher Education Support Amendment (Student Services and Amenities) Bill 2010
STUDENT SERVICES & AMENITIES FEES FOR 2012:
New legislation has been passed by the Commonwealth Government which will allow the University to charge all enrolled students a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
SSAF will not be implemented until the middle of 2012 so you will be charged half the fee, a maximum of $132 from July. Students enrolled part-time will be charged a partial fee of $99.
Off-campus, online and distance students will not be charged until 2013, after which they will be charged a partial fee. International students will not be charged until 2013. Enabling students (such as those enrolled through Open Foundation, Newtsep and Yapug) will not be charged as part of our commitment to equity and access.
Eligible students will have the option of taking out a loan for the fee under a HELP scheme similar to FEE HELP or HECS-HELP. Further information about the new SA-Help loan can be found here.
More information regarding the fee and payment options will be available for students prior to the fee being charged later in 2012. More information regarding SSAF can be found at:
