The Ma & Morley Scholarship Program will be a transformative experience offered to students of the University of Newcastle who want to change the world.
This revolutionary scholarship program was born to honour the life changing and enduring friendship between the successful Chinese entrepreneur Jack Ma and respected Novocastrian Ken Morley.
The program aims to inspire, educate and cultivate the next generation of globally aware and socially conscious Australian leaders and is only made possible by a generous US$20 million philanthropic commitment by the Jack Ma Foundation.
We are looking for students who want to change the world
A range of opportunities exist for new and continuing undergraduate students.
We acknowledge the traditional Aboriginal owners of the lands on which our offices are located:
The Pambalong Clan of the Awabakal Nation - Newcastle campus at Callaghan | Darkinung People - Central Coast campus at Ourimbah | Biripai People - Port Macquarie campus
We also acknowledge and pay respect to the other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations which our applicants, scholars and mentors are drawn from.
We pay our respects to the ancestors and past generations from these nations and it is the hope of the Ma & Morley Scholarship Program that we can develop meaningful relationships and work with current generations to be part of creating a fairer and respectful Australia now and into the future.
At least one third of the scholars in the program will come from Indigenous backgrounds and we will be honoured to offer the tools and support to develop their leadership qualities and global opportunities so they can change the world.
