The University of Newcastle’s Centre for Rehab Innovations (CRI) is a Centre of Excellence in technology-enabled health care innovations and rehabilitation research.

CRI is a leading Research Centre delivering technology-enabled health care innovations in collaboration with academic, industry and other partners nationally and internationally.

We work to identify, prioritise and co-create solutions to support healthy living and holistic recovery along the entire care continuum. This is achieved through innovation, research, and active participation with stakeholders and consumers.

Our solutions are designed, implemented, and evaluated in community and home settings; aged care environments; within hospitals and rehabilitation centres; and in education and training programs.

CRI aims to re-shape the recovery experience, through research and innovation conducted at the interface of rehabilitation medicine, neuroscience, psychology, engineering and related disciplines, to ensure that individuals receive transformative and quality care and best practice advice in a supported environment.

Among CRI’s founding members are Professor Michael Nilsson, Professor Rohan Walker, Associate Professor Michael Pollack and Professor Sarah Johnson.
