Global Centre for Gynaecological Diseases

Transforming the way gynaecological diseases are prevented, treated and cured.

The Global Centre for Gynaecological Diseases is a world-leading translational research centre focused on improving the gynaecological health of women. Our research will pioneer a fully integrated and personalised approach to the prevention, detection, and treatment of gynaecological diseases that results in advanced clinical care and outcomes for women and their families.

Women's reproductive health and gynaecological diseases are an understudied area. Gynaecological diseases collectively represent an umbrella of diseases from pelvic pain to cancers. There are limited advances in the clinical management of gynaecological diseases due to the lack of understanding of the functioning of female reproductive organs and women's health in general.

The Centre will

  1. Promote high-quality, cutting-edge research in the field of gynaecological diseases; and
  2. Facilitate the development of clinically-informed discoveries in the laboratory and their translation to clinical applications and improved health outcomes.

Our Goals

  • Reduce the time it takes to diagnose endometriosis to less than a year
  • Improve five-year survival rates to >90% from 45% by developing a non-invasive, reliable, and highly accessible early diagnostic test for ovarian cancer
  • Design new personalised treatments to cure chemoresistant ovarian and endometrial cancers
  • Develop clinical pathways for diagnosing and treating rare gynaecological disorders
