Linda Walsh is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle.
After postgraduate oboe study in Switzerland and France, Linda appeared at international contemporary music festivals in Berlin, Rome, Paris and Milan. Her recent performance works incorporate sound, visuals and gesture.
In 2012 she was a guest artist at the Sonic Arts Research Centre in Belfast, and in 2014 a new work was presented at the NIME conference in London.
Her PhD from the University of Technology, Sydney, explored new approaches to composition and performance with interactive audiovisual systems.
A new aesthetic approach to performance was developed that blends elements of theatre, dance and improvisation, culminating in new repertoire for the oboe.
