WORKSHOP ON INSTITUTIONS AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (WISED)

About us

Focusing on Institutional Design, Change, and Diversity and Socio-Economic Development, The Workshop on Institutions and Socio-economic Development (WISED) is an interdisciplinary research forum designed to contribute to a better understanding of socio-economic development and factors that impede the latter.

This is done largely through the lenses of institutional variables at both the micro and macro level. This focus interfaces with research in many domains but it clearly interfaces with new programming on cooperatives as well as entrepreneurship and innovation. It also connects with research interests in non-profits, legal parameters and environmental challenges impacting on human action and organisational change.

WISED was launched on the 8th July 2015.

A key focal point of this workshop is to foster, develop, and discuss research and research papers, in order to develop research projects and grant applications to support them. This objective will be pursued through organising fortnightly informal research seminars where participants can present discuss and critique research ideas and initiatives.
