Description
The Graduate Certificate in Business Psychology offers an advanced understanding of psychological processes at the core of effective organisations and workplaces. From team dynamics, leadership and organisational change to employee wellbeing, psychological assessment and interviewing, this degree is designed to equip students with evidence-based insights into human behaviour in the workplace.
Program learning outcomes
On successful completion of the program students will have:
- Developed interpersonal skills required to work collaboratively
- A sound working knowledge of people and behaviours in workplace environments
- The capability to apply theoretical and empirical knowledge from the field of psychology in a real world context
- Experience in applying psychological research methods and data to better understand organisational behaviour
- Awareness of ethical and professional practice standards when it comes to applying psychological research, tools and skills in the workplace
- The skills to analyse needs of organisations to make informed decisions regarding applied psychological issues

Admission information
Admission requirements
Admission is open to applicants meeting one of the following criteria:
- 3 year bachelors Degree in a related field (i.e. cognate), or higher
- 3 year bachelors Degree not in a related field (i.e. non-cognate); or
- 3 year Diploma in a related (i.e. cognate) field such as psychology, or social sciences, or
- 3 year Diploma not in a related field + 1 year relevant organisational experience; or
- 2 year Diploma in a related field such as psychology, or social sciences, + 2 years relevant organisational experience; or
- 2 year Diploma not in the discipline + 3 years relevant organisational experience; or
- At least 5 years organisational experience.
English Language Requirements
All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy here.
- IELTS Overall Minimum: 6.5
- IELTS Sub Test Minimum: 6
Credit transfer
Where credit has been granted upon admission to the Master of Business Psychology (Program Code 12394) only a maximum of 20 units of credit granted can count towards the Graduate Certificate in Business Psychology (Program Code 12396).

0.5 years full-time or part-time equivalent up to 3 years maximum.
Program requirements
The Graduate Certificate in Business Psychology requires the successful completion of 40 units of study including 20 units of prescribed core courses and a further 20 units of courses chosen from the Course List, dependent on whether students enter as a cognate or non-Cognate pathway.
Non-cognate students are required to complete two foundational and two core Master of Business Psychology courses.

Additional information
Through the Pathways and Academic Learning Support Centre, students can access a free suite of NUPrep preparation courses as well as Academic Learning Support.
