Learning Design and Teaching Innovation (formerly the Centre for Teaching and Learning) supports academic staff and students and in their pursuit of teaching excellence and learning success.

LDTI staff work with you at all stages of your career, whether you are new to teaching, a sessional staff member or someone who is interested in further developing your teaching practice.

Our Services

Professional Development

LDTI are currently reviewing the professional development services and workshops that will be offered in 2020.  Training can be tailored to individuals or to meet the specific requirements of your course, faculty or school.

  • New Faculty Orienation/Teaching Essentials will run on 5-6 February 2020.  
    If you have a probationary requirement to attend, please reigster via Discover.

Course Design

Our Learning Designers are available for individual teaching consultations, course design reviews, development of assessments and learning objects.

The BOLD lab

The Learning Design and Teaching Innovation team will help you plan, design and create innovative online learning. Staff can assist with building user-friendly Blackboard course sites, flipping the classroom, developing teaching resources, and specialised project work such as: video creation.

Virtual Learning Environment

The Learning Technologies Support team for provide 'just in time' help and training to academics for the teaching and learning technologies available in UONline.

Academic Learning Support

Learning Advisers work with staff and students to help students learn and write effectively, providing assistance with essay writing, study skills, mathematics and statistics, and English language skills. Offerings include:  self-help resources, workshops, econsults and student consultations.
