AI Sector Voices: Cogniti and Statistics Education

LDTI’s AI Sector Voices sessions include guest presentations from experts and practitioners on a variety of GenAI and Education topics.
In the lead up to our initial Cogniti training session on 02 April, LDTI is pleased to welcome Minh Huynh (AI in Research Training Lead) and Dr Liana Pozzo (School of Life and Environmental Sciences) from the University of Sydney to discuss their piloting of the “Statbot” Cogniti agent.
Statbot has been developed as a customised statistics tutor for a large, diverse first-year cohort with a wide variation in maths confidence. Minh and Liana will be discussing how they approached the development of the agent, and lessons learned after the first semester of use.
This session is intended for academic staff but may be applicable to anyone with an interest in how GenAI may be used with education.
