Defence Industry Security Program (DISP)

The Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), managed by the Defence Industry Security Office (Australian Department of Defence), supports Australian business to understand and meet their  security obligations when engaging with the Department of Defence on projects, contracts and tenders.

The Program sets out the minimum governance, personnel, physical, and cyber/information security standards required to partner with Defence. It is essentially security vetting for Australian businesses.

The University of Newcastle holds DISP certification, reflecting its capability to handle sensitive information and partner with the Department of Defence. Information on the University's defence research capacity is available here.
