What you will study

Learning from current industry practitioners and University academics across a range of disciplines, you will gain a well-rounded theoretical and practical understanding and application of project management.

You will complete core courses in:

  • Project management principles
  • Business project management

This program will train you to manage project timelines, budgets and risks, as well as manage people and teams. This program uses a case study approach to provide you with the skills to manage the full project lifecycle.

Majors

As part of your studies, you also have the opportunity to specialise with 20 units of directed courses, majoring in either:

  • Management
  • The built environment
  • Information technology

Students have the option to enrol in a single course rather than a whole program (non-award). Students that enrol in a single course will receive a certificate of completion.

If students then choose to enrol in the full program, or another University of Newcastle postgraduate program, they may be awarded credit for courses completed, program dependent.

Entry into the Graduate Certificate in Project Management will be available to applicants who have:

  • 3 year Bachelor’s degree; or
  • 3 year Diploma + 1 year relevant organisational experience   or
  • 2 year Diploma + 2 years relevant organisational experience or
  • 1 year Diploma + 3 years relevant organisational experience.
