Description
Project management is the discipline of planning, organising, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. Over the last decade, the countless industries have embraced modern professional project management as a specialised discipline, including the building and IT industries.
Effective project management will help:
- Meet or exceed client expectations
- Maximize the use of resources (time, people, money, space, etc)
- Bring projects to a successful conclusion on time and within budget
- Successfully manage project stakeholders and project risks
- Evaluate project outcomes and document learning for future reference and
- Build confidence in a team for future projects.
This program has been assembled by practicing professional project managers, with courses logically built around the project life cycle providing the skills required to deliver a project from "Start-up" to "Wrap-up".
Program learning outcomes
On successful completion of the program students will have:
- Develop a project's scope and manage the integration of all project functions at an advanced level.
- Develop and manage: (a) project schedule, (b) teams and stakeholders at an advanced level.
- Develop and implement project procurement, cost, quality, risk and human resource management strategies as applied to business project.
- Manage the business projects undertaken to further the company's strategy or objectives

Admission requirements
Entry into the Graduate Certificate in Project Management will be available to applicants who have:
- 3 year Bachelor’s degree; or
- 3 year Diploma + 1 year relevant organisational experience or
- 2 year Diploma + 2 years relevant organisational experience or
- 1 year Diploma + 3 years relevant organisational experience.
English Language Requirements
All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy here.
- IELTS Overall Minimum: 6.5
- IELTS Sub Test Minimum: 6

PACC6008 replaces GSBS6002. Students who have successfully completed GSBS6002 cannot complete PACC6008.

Through the Pathways and Academic Learning Support Centre, students can access a free suite of NUPrep preparation courses as well as Academic Learning Support.
