Student Engagement — Welcome, Events, and Student Support
In Q1, the Student Engagement team delivers wide-ranging programs that support student onboarding, connection, and success across all campuses.
- Orientation Programming: Transitioned successfully from O-Week to Welcome Week, with ~3,238 face-to-face check-ins and 315 online attendees across webinars and sessions. Campus attendance increased notably from 2024, with growth across Newcastle City, Gosford, Ourimbah, and Callaghan.
- Festival of Autonomy (60th Anniversary Edition): Planned as a landmark celebration with ~3,000 students expected, supported by UNSA, NUServices, IFS, and campus safety teams.
- Peer-to-Peer Communications (Navigator platform): Delivered engaging student-led content with ~22,115 video views and 507 interactions on topics like consent, financial wellbeing, and exam survival.
- Student Advising Services: Managed 25,978 emails, 16,759 calls, 14,664 face-to-face enquiries, and 4,733 chat sessions, achieving ~80% satisfaction in surveys and 87% face-to-face approval.
- Student Engagement Events: Created opportunities for domestic and international students to connect, with a focus on improving event promotion and inclusivity for online students.
