Student Career-ready Placement Award
This award recognises outstanding achievements by students who have undertaken a career-ready placement as part of their studies. Recipients will have demonstrated meaningful engagement in workplace activities that have significantly enhanced their learning outcomes and contributed to the development of their employability skills.
Selection Criteria
Nominees for this award will have shown innovation and/or exceptional performance during their career-ready placement. Examples of eligible achievements include:
- Demonstrating exceptional professional or technical achievements in the workplace.
- Providing exemplary service to clients, customers, or stakeholders.
- Contributing to an innovative or outstanding initiative within the organisation.
- Making a significant contribution to improvements in workplace processes, systems, or culture.
Up to three recipients may be selected for this award.
Who can be nominated?
Nominees must:
- Be a current student or a recent graduate who completed their studies in 2025.
- Have completed in 2025, or be currently undertaking, a workplace-based placement or project in an authentic professional context. Note that:
- The placement or project must count towards course or program requirements (i.e., it is a required or credited component of the nominee's studies).
- This could include internships, practicums, or field experience where the nominee tackled meaningful tasks in a workplace setting.
- The placement can occur in a traditional workplace, the community, or even at the University itself.
- The placement can be real or simulated, as long as the experience is authentic, relevant and meaningfully assessed or evaluated.
- Not have previously received the Student Career-ready Placement Award.
Who can nominate?
Nominations for this award can be submitted by:
- Business, industry, or community partners, including workplace supervisors.
- University staff members.
- Students who are currently enrolled at the University or who graduated in 2025. Self-nominations are welcome.
