Staff Career-ready Placement Award

This award recognises University of Newcastle staff who have made exceptional contributions to the design, delivery, or enhancement of career-ready placement experiences. Recipients will have enabled students to engage in meaningful, authentic workplace learning that supports both academic outcomes and employability development.

Selection Criteria

Nominees for this award will have demonstrated innovation, leadership, or excellence in supporting career-ready placements. Examples of eligible achievements include:

  • Making a significant contribution to the initiation, support, or delivery of a career-ready placement course or program that meaningfully enhances student employability.
  • Conducting or publishing research that advances the field of work-integrated learning.
  • Delivering outstanding service to students, staff, industry, or community partners in the context of career-ready placement activities.
  • Implementing improvements to placement processes, systems, or stakeholder engagement.

Up to three academic staff and up to three professional staff may be recognised in this category.

Who can be nominated?

Nominees must:

  • Be a current staff member of the University of Newcastle, in either an academic or professional role.
  • Not have previously received the Staff Career-Ready Placement Award.

Who can nominate?

Nominations for this award can be submitted by:

  • Business, industry, or community partners.
  • University staff members. Self-nominations are welcome.
  • Students who are currently enrolled at the University or who graduated in 2025.
