Nominations process
How do I nominate someone for the Employability Excellence Awards?
Nominations can be submitted through our online nominations platform.
- Current students and staff can log in using their University credentials.
- External nominators will need to create an account using a valid email address or phone number.
- Once logged in, you’ll select the award category, provide your contact details, and enter information about the nominee. You’ll then respond to questions aligned with the award criteria (100–300 words per response).
- You may also upload optional supporting documents (e.g., reference letters, transcripts, photos).
Can I save and edit my nomination before submitting?
Yes. You can save your nomination and make edits until submissions close on Friday 3 October 2025.
Can I nominate myself?
Yes, self-nominations are welcome if you meet the eligibility criteria for the award. Note that students who self-nominate must include contact details for a referee who can endorse their nomination.
How many nominations can I put forward?
There’s no limit to the number of nominations you can submit. You may submit multiple nominations across different award categories. However, you cannot nominate the same person or organisation more than once within the same award category.
Will you accept late nominations?
No. Late nominations will not be considered.
Will the nominee know I nominated them?
The University reserves the right to disclose the identity of the nominator to the nominee.
Writing a strong nomination
Where can I find tips for writing a strong nomination?
Visit our Nomination Guidelines for advice on structuring your responses and addressing the selection criteria.
What are the nomination selection criteria?
Selection criteria help the panel assess each nomination fairly. Be sure to address each criterion clearly and provide evidence of the nominee’s achievements relevant to the award category.
Selection and awards
What is a shortlist?
A shortlist is a group of nominees selected by Awards moderators as strong contenders for an award category. These individuals or organisations have demonstrated achievements that closely align with the selection criteria and stand out among the nominations received. Shortlisted nominees will be notified in mid to late October and invited to attend the Employability Excellence Awards celebration on Tuesday 25 November 2025. Final award recipients (achievers) will be publicly announced the following day.
Who sits on the Awards selection panel?
Nominations are first reviewed by a moderator with relevant expertise. Final decisions are made by a selection panel comprising senior University staff and an industry representative.
