New Partner in Employability Award

This award recognises new industry, business, or community partners that have made notable contributions to the employability of University of Newcastle students and/or graduates. Recipients will have recently established a partnership with the University and demonstrated impact through meaningful engagement in employability initiatives.

Selection Criteria

This award celebrates organisations that have made a significant contribution to student employability through their recent partnership with the University. Examples of eligible contributions include:

  • Engaging in the University’s career-ready placement program and contributing to the professional preparation of students. This may include hosting students for placements, internships, clinicals, practicums, or field experiences involving meaningful workplace tasks.
  • Participating in or leading undergraduate and/or graduate recruitment activities.
  • Contributing to curriculum development or initiatives that help prepare students for the professional workplace.

Up to three recipients may be selected for this award.

Who can be nominated?

Nominees must:

  • Be a business, industry, or community partner of the University of Newcastle who have established their partnership within the past three years.
  • Not have previously received the New Partner in Employability Award.

Important notes on eligibility:

  • Organisations that have partnered with the University for more than three years may be eligible to be nominated for the Industry Hall of Fame.

Who can nominate?

Nominations for this award can be submitted by:

  • Business, industry, or community partners. Self-nominations are welcome.
  • University staff members.
  • Students who are currently enrolled at the University or who graduated in 2025.
