The Educator Network (tEN) aims to promote collaboration, innovation and excellence. Membership of tEN is open to all educators, being any staff involved in the education experience at our University, including academic and professional staff.
the Educator Network has been established to:
- Promote teaching excellence and drive innovation through sharing good practice and collaboration
- Empower educators to teach better through sharing good practice and collaboration
- Provide practical solutions, support and resources, and
- Enable capability in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
Leadership - Enabling Educational Leadership
The Educator Network encourages collaboration and sharing of ideas and good practice with a focus for innovation and scholarship in Learning and Teaching.
The network holds frequent events to help build capacity in educators at the University of Newcastle.
Global Impact - Advance HE and Fellowships
The University of Newcastle, through the Educator Network, has recently joined AdvanceHE (UK), formerly HEA, with an Access Membership. Access Membership brings together the latest and best practice in higher education, and provides access to services for professional development based on evidence and what works globally.
We encourage you to think about how to develop your own educator experience and professional development. A number of resources and online tools are available for your use.
Community
the Educator network is a collective of passionate educators from across the University of Newcastle. We are a community for generating and supporting ideas and creativity; a focal point for promoting and celebrating excellence in teaching; and a campfire for conversation, mentoring and networking.
To encourage collaboration the Educator Network has created a Viva Engage group (formerly Yammer) to assist our educators with sharing good practice, supporting ideas and creativity and networking.
