With seven main locations across regional and rural NSW, you’ll have opportunities to study, train and experience life in a range of vibrant communities. Each main site offers dedicated learning facilities, offices and student accommodation, providing a supportive base while you’re on placement.

You can choose to undertake your rural placements at one of our seven main sites, or at a range of locations across our broader NSW footprint.

Armidale

This tight-knit university town offers a blend of culture, state-of-the-art learning facilities, diverse placement opportunities and jaw-dropping natural beauty

Coffs Harbour

This subtropical city is perfect for students looking for a coastal adventure further afield, along with modern convenience and a vibrant small-town atmosphere.

Inverell

With beautiful weather all year round and lakes, national parks, wineries, fossicking, shopping, restaurants, cafes and so much more – you won't be bored living in Inverell.

Moree

This agricultural service town has an Art Deco flair and charming old-world ambiance. University of Newcastle students can access free student accommodation and travel assistance.

Port Macquarie

Students who undertake a rural placement in this stunning coastal town are often looking to mix study, travel and a relaxing beach lifestyle—all less than three hours’ drive from Newcastle.

Tamworth

Experience a relaxed country lifestyle within a close-knit community, with close access to world-class learning facilities at our Tamworth Education Centre (TEC).

Taree

Taree is located at the heart of the picturesque Manning Valley. The town is surrounded by pristine beaches, waterways and nature reserves.
