HSC Study Hub

The HSC Study Hub is a free program designed to support high school students in building confidence, improving study skills, and achieving their best possible results in HSC subjects.

Through a range of subject-specific workshops, study intensives, and learning opportunities, students gain access to expert guidance, practical strategies, and valuable resources that help them strengthen their understanding and prepare for assessments and exams.

Delivered by the University of Newcastle, the HSC Study Hub combines academic expertise with hands-on learning experiences to help students move beyond revision and develop the skills needed for exam success. Whether attending in person or online, students can engage with university academics, receive personalised support, and explore future study pathways while developing the knowledge and confidence to succeed in their HSC journey.

These sessions are designed for students in either Year 11 or Year 12 and currently studying HSC Mathematics or Computing subjects in 2026.

No. The intensives are completely free for all students.

Students can register online via Eventbrite. Places are limited for each session.

Yes. An online webinar session is available for students in regional or remote areas. There are Mathematics webinar and Computing webinar sessions in addition to the face-to-face session options– please ensure you register for the correct session type.

The HSC Study Hub sessions are delivered in two study modes; face-to-face and online.

Online sessions will be delivered by Zoom, and a link will be sent to registered students 1 day prior.

No, the HSC Study Hub Intensive sessions are available on different dates and delivery modes ( in person or online), so you can choose the session that best suits your needs. We do recommend that you attend the whole session to get the maximum benefit and the ability to participate in the practice exam activities.

Students will work through targeted HSC-style questions, practise exam techniques, and receive personalised feedback to improve their responses. All sessions will be led by experienced University Academics and Tutors.

Students should bring laptop, stationery, a calculator (for Maths), and any relevant study materials. If you require medications to manage a health condition, please ensure you bring medications with you to the session.

Yes! Free study snacks and catered lunch is provided as part of the face-to-face sessions delivered at Callaghan Campus. Every effort will be made to cater for a range of dietary requirements.

However, if you have dietary restrictions or allergies, you can also bring your own food or purchase food from the vendors on campus.

The Study Hub focuses on active learning and performance improvement, including guided practice, exam strategies, and personalised feedback — not just content revision.

Sessions are delivered by University of Newcastle academics and supported by high-performing tutors. All staff involved in the HSC Study Hub have completed a Working With Children Check (WWCC).
