Training & Research: Postgraduates & Clinicians

We offer a variety of training opportunities to advance the skills and knowledge of radiation oncology postgraduates and clinicians. Currently, the Global Centre supports seven Higher Degree by Research Candidates (Masters & PhDs). Research is the core of radiation oncology innovation and we encourage anyone interested to enquire about our Masters or PhD Programs and other research opportunities.

The following are our current courses and workshops, follow the links provided to enrol:

GP Education Workshops in collaboration with Targeting Cancer

GP Education Workshops in collaboration with Targeting Cancer

One in two people with cancer need radiation therapy. As GPs are a vital part of a patient’s cancer management pathway, it is to provide GPs with information about radiation therapy and cancer treatment. By raising awareness of radiation therapy as an effective treatment for cancer, our patients receive the best care possible. The GP Workshops offer education and provide education and awareness about radiation therapy to GPs through evening face to face seminars held in the Global Centre Radiation Oncology space and are supported by Targeting Cancer - a national campaign raising awareness of radiation therapy.

United Nations Accredited Short Courses for distribution in Vietnam

United Nations Accredited Short Courses for distribution in Vietnam

This short course is UN Accredited for global deployment, it introduces participants to radiation safety and Quality Assurance (QA) in the context of radiation oncology departments. The course provides an introductory level of understanding of ionising radiation characteristics, properties, and production as well as the effects radiation interactions can have on the human body. Fundamental principles and clinically relevant radiation protection and QA procedures are explored, providing participants with the skills to develop and perform safe work practices.

This course aligns with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Sustainable Development Goal #3: Good Health & Wellbeing. IAEA assists countries in tackling cancer by helping them to educate and train specialised health professionals, develop comprehensive cancer control programs, and establishing nuclear medicine, radiation therapy and oncology and radiology facilities. This includes providing training and education on safety and radiation protection of patients and health professionals during medical procedures involving the use of radiation.
