Affordable Housing for Students
The University provides on-campus affordable accommodation to students and evaluates affordability using independent market surveys as benchmarks against comparable local private housing.
This approach is designed to keep Student Living rates below prevailing local market rents while offering a range of room types to suit different budgets and living preferences.
In 2025, the University's affordability assessment compared on-campus accommodation fees of $249.45 - $477.76 per week with local market rates of up to $540 per week.
On-campus accommodation includes more than the room itself. Student Living fees include Wi-Fi, utilities such as electricity and water, general cleaning, 24/7 security, and wellbeing and support services.
Financial support for housing costs
Students experiencing financial hardship can also access University financial assistance. Student Living Grants are available to eligible on-campus residents experiencing significant financial hardship and can contribute up to $2,000 in an academic year towards costs including accommodation and other essential living expenses.
The Student Residences Scholarship provides additional support for students living in Student Living accommodation who are managing educational disadvantage, including financial hardship.
