Nominate now for staff council elections
Be involved in the decision making process of the University by becoming a member of Council.
The University of Newcastle is to elect two academic staff members and one non-academic staff member to the University Council.
Nominations for the positions are now open and will close 5:00pm, Friday 29 May 2020. 
 
If required, an electronic ballot will be conducted. Voting will open on 16 June and close 5:00pm 1 July 2020.
The term of office of the persons elected will be two years from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2022.
The University of Newcastle Council is responsible for the governance of the University. The Council acts in the best interest of the University, driving performance through strategy and stewardship, by providing overall strategic guidance for the University and overseeing senior management in carrying out that strategic direction.
As a staff representative on Council, you will be invited to attend meetings, share your perspective as a staff member of the University and develop your governance skills and experience.
