Meet UON’s Council members as we share their thoughts on education and being part of the Council.

Geoff Lilliss

Why did you join the University Council?

I was glad to be invited as it gave me the chance to give something real and tangible back to the University.

What do you look back on most fondly when it comes to your own education?

Looking back, well it was a long time ago and the memory gets fuzzy! The answer is - lots of things but the main memory was the part time and work slog which went on for many years.  Yes if you were sponsored as I was by a company, they didn't really believe in full time. Anyway, that led to lots of adventures and good colleagues many of whom were real characters!
