Description
The Graduate Diploma in Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation program is an Exit Only Award, designed to equip graduates with specialist training in risk assessment and remediation, and provide high quality industry ready graduates to meet end user needs.
The program will also allow for relevant, formal studies to be tailored for practitioners/professionals who wish to complement their professional experience.
The Graduate Diploma in Risk Assessment and Remediation courses are focused postgraduate courses integrating all the required disciplines necessary for assessing environmental contaminants, determining the impact of contaminants on the environment and assessing potential remediation technologies.
Program learning outcomes
On successful completion of the program students will have:
- Advanced understanding of scientific concepts underlying environmental risk assessment and remediation.
- Select and apply appropriate scientific methodologies and tools for environmental investigation.
- Apply critical thinking to synthesise data from a number of sources to solve complex problems presented in environmental risk assessment and remediation.
- Work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to design and implement projects.
- Demonstrate advanced judgement, professional aptitude and technical capabilities in environmental risk assessment and remediation
- Communicate specialised technical knowledge effectively to specialist and non-specialist audiences in a variety of contexts.

The Graduate Diploma in Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation (Program Code 40025) is an exit award only from the Master of Environmental Risk Assessment and Remediation (Program Code 40024) degree program.
This program is designed to give a research and practical based learning experience to student and consists of a total of 80 units of courses, including 60 units of compulsory core courses and 20 units of courses chosen from the Course List.
