We train engineers capable of solving the world’s greatest challenges. This degree will prepare you to help address the world’s future energy needs by taking biomass, wind and tidal power solutions to the next level. Your core courses will cover robotics, new advanced materials, energy generation and transmission, and computer control of physical systems.

Sarah, Taylor, Tom and Jackson featured have used our career-ready placement program to gain the practical workplace skills needed to start their careers after graduation.

Career-ready placements

All University of Newcastle engineering students complete 12 weeks of industrial experience during their degree. This can be completed in one block or as shorter placements of no less than two weeks.

Through your work placement you’ll build important professional networks and put your learning into practice.
