Strategy, Planning and Performance Survey Prize Draw – Competition Rules

1. WHO CAN ENTER?

1.1 Entry is open to current students of the University of Newcastle who received an invitation from surveys@newcastle.edu.au or via their Canvas site.

2. COMPETITION

2.1 The competition will run for the duration of the survey period for which the invitation was received.

2.2 The competition will be drawn and/or decided at the time, on the date/s and at the location/s as specified by Strategy, Planning and Performance. The prize/s will be awarded to a valid entrant/s (as applicable) who are randomly drawn in accordance with the details specified by Strategy, Planning and Performance regarding how the prize/s will be awarded.

2.3 The competition is covered under Gratuitous Lotteries as outlined by NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing.

3. PRIZES

3.1 In order to qualify for the prize the participant must have completed and submitted the survey online during the survey period. By submitting an entry, you agree to be bound by and abide by the Strategy, Planning and Performance Survey Prize Draw Competition Rules.

3.2 The draw will be conducted as a simple random sample without replacement after the competition closes.

3.3 For the SFUN Survey only: All students will be entered into each prize pool as per their selection in the SFUN Prize draw question. Students who complete additional questions will receive an additional entry.

3.4 Prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.

3.5 The winner of the competition will be notified by email (to their student email account) within seven (7) days of the winner being chosen.

3.6 The entrant must arrange for collection of the prize within 28 days of being notified of winning, else the prize is forfeited by the entrant and it becomes an unclaimed prize. Unclaimed prizes will be used in subsequent prize draws conducted by Strategy, Planning and Performance.

3.7 The winners first name and program name (i.e. Jessica in the Bachelor of Social Science) may be mentioned on the University of Newcastle website (www.newcastle.edu.au), social media posts, student close the loop report emails or other communication methods conducted by Strategy, Planning and Performance.

3.8 For the SFUN Survey only: In participating in the prize/s, the winners agree to participate and co-operate if required in any and all editorial activities relating to the Competition. The winner/s will not be entitled to any fee.

4. NO LIABILITY

4.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter's ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, or act of terrorism, the Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same terms and conditions.

4.2 The University of Newcastle will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.

4.3 The University of Newcastle will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss or claim that may occur:

a) in the participation in any prize;

b) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;

c) due to the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person;

d) in relation to the failure of an entry to be received by the Promoter due to technical problems or traffic congestion;

e) arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any computer equipment, software, internet connection, any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer software related to or resulting from participation in this competition;

4.4 The University of Newcastle assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.

4.5 If for any reason a competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
