Food Services — LC Deli Subsidised Offering
The subsidised food initiative at LC Deli was developed in response to ongoing student feedback from the SFUN survey highlighting concerns around food affordability and quality on campus. Reintroduced in Q1, 2025 following the January campus reopening, the initiative is funded through SSAF and offsets the cost of food to improve both price and variety, benefiting not just the general campus community but especially the ~1,700 residential students, many of whom rely on LC Deli as it’s one of the few outlets open on Saturdays.
The project has made strong progress, recording a threefold increase in sales compared to the previous year — a clear indicator of demand and positive uptake. Plans are underway to introduce QR code online ordering to improve convenience. Collaboration with Student Living, Student Central, and DTS (via the MyUni app) has helped amplify promotion and increase awareness.
Effectiveness will continue to be measured through SFUN survey results and sales data, and early feedback indicates it is helping ease financial pressures on students while improving campus life. Updates and promotions are being shared across LC Deli’s social media, the MyUni app, and campus presentations to further engage students.
