Careers and Employability Activities

Careers and Employability initiatives play a crucial role in supporting student’s transition from study to work, improving job readiness, confidence, and access to meaningful employment. These programs are particularly impactful for students from diverse and equity backgrounds, helping them navigate the challenges of securing casual work, graduate roles, and professional placements.

Throughout Q1, 2025, Careers and Employability engaged thousands of students through a diverse range of activities. The Career Peers program delivered over 300 face-to-face and online sessions, providing tailored advice on job applications, LinkedIn profiles, and interview preparation. Life Ready Programs supported over 680 approved job advertisements, connecting students with employers and enhancing financial stability while studying. The UniCrew volunteering program saw 578 students enrolled, with over 80 volunteer shifts completed, fostering a sense of belonging, skill development, and community connection, particularly valuable for international students.

Career Service Team Leaders coordinated key initiatives including Jobs on Campus, offering 61 paid roles and attracting nearly 300 applications, alongside workshops and information sessions with strong student participation. The Employability Consultant for Diversity and Campus Projects delivered targeted supports for students with disability and international cohorts, including the Finding Work in Australia series and specialised workshops, which received positive feedback. Leadership and networking skills were further developed through the iLEAD program, involving 235 students, while the Careers Expos attracted over 1,100 participants, with 95% reporting the events supported their career planning.
