For more than 20 years, Mayfield West Demonstration School has worked closely with the University of Newcastle to nurture generations of teachers and leaders in education. This year, they have been honoured with an induction into the Work Integrated Learning Hall of Fame. The school is a key partner in the University’s mission to provide the best teacher preparation programs in the country.
At Mayfield West Demonstration School, practical experience is of a high priority, with students diving headfirst into the full range of teacher experiences. They are encouraged to build upon the characteristics required to thrive in the profession. Through a combination of work-integrated learning and open discourse, Mayfield West Demonstration School has created a learning environment where people feel valued and cared for. “Our children appreciate the investment of students in their learning and over the past three years, we have a 100% employment pathway for all final level placement students.” - Principal Matthew Bradley.
