Work Integrated Learning Hall of Fame Inductee - Umwelt Australia
This year, social and environmental consultancy Umwelt Australia are being recognised for their efforts in providing University of Newcastle students with practical work opportunities. Through targeted placements, students gain regional and national perspectives across a variety of industries including mining, renewable energy, urban development, defence and government. In the office or out in the field, students work closely with Umwelt leaders, contributing to meaningful projects with real-world impacts.
Umwelt Australia provides an empowering, respectful and supportive culture for students, encouraging and incorporating innovative ideas and methodologies formulated by students within the program. Fostering capable environmental and social professionals is of the utmost importance to Umwelt Australia - “We’ve been partnering with the University for six years now and have had 21 placement students, six of which are now employed full-time within the business.” - Dr Sheridan Coakes.
We are grateful for the continued relationship we share with Umwelt Australia and are proud to welcome them into the Work Integrated Learning Hall of Fame.
