New Partner in Employability Award - Hunter Prelude

Childhood Early Intervention Centre Hunter Prelude has been awarded the New Partner in Employability Award for 2021. For over 30 years, they have provided unwavering therapy support to young children and their families. In partnership with the University, paid positions are offered to 4th year speech pathology, occupational therapy and physiotherapy students, helping to kickstart their careers and assist in the transition into professional roles.

Guided through fortnightly coaching and peer mentoring programs, the students learn how to complete routine assessments and coach families to implement effective strategies into their everyday routines. General Manager Kimberly Lewis is proud to work alongside the University of Newcastle in nurturing the next generation of health professionals. “We are passionate about building students capacity while giving back to the University of Newcastle community.”
