Video: Work Integrated Learning Staff Member of the Year - Dr Chris Tucker

For the last five years, Dr Chris Tucker has run a unique employability experience in collaboration with Tangentyere Council - an Indigenous organisation in Alice Springs that represents 17 Town Camps.

Each year, 16 architecture students are offered a special opportunity to work within Indigenous communities on public construction projects. Operating out of a popup architectural studio, they design infrastructure that directly benefits each Town Camp and its people, providing a life-changing student experience. Producing work that’s often funded by the Federal and Northern Territory Governments, young architects formulate ideas that have an authentic impact. “Placements involved work on real projects, projects that make a real difference.” We congratulate Dr Tucker on the award along with his continued efforts and achievement in this vital area.
